Local Removals...
Generally a local removal is described as such
when the loading and unloading is undertaken within a 20 mile radius of
our Bridport or Beaminster depot. Removals further than this distance begin to incur
traveling time mileage and fuel costs.
Local removals are generally very straight
forward, as our representative would have visited you to assess the
goods to be removed, and can very accurately assess the logistics of
your removal, having local knowledge.
Our rates for all our removal services are very
competitive. When obtaining quotations for your removal, be sure that
each company is quoting for the same thing. We are members of the
National Guild of Removers and Storers, and operate in a professional
manner, having all the correct insurances and back up systems. You will
probably get cheaper quotations. But if they're from a man and van type
set up, and problems arise with your removal it will be unlikely they
have the support systems to cope with problems that can arise.
When you decide to book your removal with us,
remember that we supply packing cartons free of charge on receipt of
your deposit. These are returnable though. You may get a cheaper quote,
but if you have to obtain your own packing cartons and tape, it can be
very costly. So bear this in mind when comparing quotes.
Most medium to large size removals would be
undertaken in one day, that being your removal day, however if we are
packing your removal, we would generally send an operative to you the
day before to get e head start with packing.
Larger removals may require packing and or part
loading the day prior to your removal day. This ensures that we can
clear your property by 12 noon, so you have time to do any last minute
cleaning, and we are clear of the property so your buyers removal crew
can gain access. We generally aim for 12 noon, however on many occasions
the actual exchange and hand over of keys can sometimes drag on until 2
pm, and in some cases longer.
By this time though we should be at your new
address waiting to unload. Time permitting the crew will have lunch
en-route to your new address. The crew leader will liaise with you as to
their plans for time of arrival, and strategy for unloading.
If you do not receive your key in the normal time
frame i.e.; between 12 noon and 2pm the time to unload will get shorter
and shorter. Fortunately with local removals, we can normally get extra
crew to assist unloading if time gets short. That of course is assuming
that other crews are not in the same predicament.
